The "D" snow fence strut is a key component used to install snow fence on concrete or ceramic tongue-and-groove tile roofs. This product is designed to provide a solid and secure attachment of snow barriers, preventing snow and ice from sliding off the roof

Type D snow fence strut for ladders with a height of 200 mm

The "D" snow fence strut is a key component of snow fence installation on concrete or ceramic tongue-and-groove tile roofs. This product is designed to provide a solid and secure fit for snow fences, preventing snow and ice from sliding off the roof.

The strut is used to install a snow fence, which is necessary to protect against snow avalanches on roofs in areas with heavy snowfall. Snow barriers are placed on roofing and prevent dangerous snow avalanches that could cause damage to property or endanger the safety of people.

Installation:

Installation of the "D" snow fence strut is simple and effective, suitable for both professionals and ordinary users. It is designed to be easily integrated into the construction of a concrete or ceramic tongue-and-groove tile roof.

Zinc coating

All elements are made of steel that has undergone a tinning process. This is the most effective and durable way to protect steel from corrosion. During the tinning process, zinc atoms penetrate the outer layer of the steel, forming a surface alloy of iron and zinc, which forms a protective layer against corrosion. The durability of zinc coatings can reach up to 100 years, depending on conditions.

Powder coating

Powder coating is resistant to corrosion, chemicals, high temperatures and mechanical damage. Electrically charged powder paint particles are applied to the metal surface, which is then heated to 140-200°C, causing the powder to melt and polymerize. The advantages of powder coating include a smooth, crack- and stain-free surface, anti-corrosion properties, resistance to mechanical damage, thermal and chemical resistance, and environmental friendliness.

Snow balustrade: and the number of handles needed

What does the number of handles depend on?

  • The slope of the roof (the steeper the slope, the more handles)
  • the length of the roof surface (rafters) - above 6 m, an increase in the number of handles or even the installation of a second row of railings is required
  • for standard lengths of rafters, the number of handles is used according to the table below

Note - exceptions!

  • When the roof pitch exceeds 55° - always add one bracket to the set.
  • When the length of the rafters exceeds 6 m, it is necessary to add 1 bracket for every 2 m of rafters above 7 m. Thus, from 6 m to 8 m - one additional bracket, from 8 m to 10 m - two additional brackets.
  • Above 10 m, it is necessary to use an additional row of handrails - about 4 m above the first row. In this case, the lower handrail is installed according to the table above, and the upper handrail according to point 2
  • In the case of handrails with a height of 20 cm, an additional bracket should be used.

Note: The above information is the result of collected information and our experience. The above information should not be considered as installation instructions. The use of roof communication should be in accordance with the technical design drawn up for the building, taking into account the requirements of relevant standards and applicable technical and construction regulations. To add additional brackets to the kit, use the menu of individual components.

Roof pitch angle Length of the railing Number of brackets per 1 grille
Up to 25 degrees 1,00 m 2
25 - 40 degrees 1,50 m 3
2,00 m 4
Above 40 degrees 1,00 m 3

General assembly rules

The method of mounting the handrail to the bracket:

Special slats on the bracket allow quick and easy installation of the snow railing. Simply push the handrail profile into the latches - the new method of attaching the handrail to the latch brackets is extremely durable. No additional tools are needed.

Handrail mounting height:

When installed, the handrail is 65 mm above the base of the latch. For coverings with a module height exceeding 65 mm, installation will not be possible. This applies in particular to:

  • metal sheets with a wave height <65 mm
  • trapezoidal sheets with a module <65 mm (T-65 profile)
  • corrugated sheets with a wave height <65 mm.

Instructions for installation of snow protection:

  • Snow guard brackets should be fixed to the wooden roof structure with wood screws in accordance with PN-EN 14592+A1:2012.
  • The recommended mounting point for the first row of rails is at the height of the roof trusses
  • Edge brackets should be installed so that they are close to the edge of the railing.

Note: The spacing of the brackets, the number of fixing screws and their dimensions should be determined in the technical design, depending on the slope of the roof and the snow load zone, taking into account the load capacity of the elements of about 2 kN.
Screws 6 mm x 60 mm for attaching brackets to the roof surface can be found here: Screws for attachment of snow guard
